Some New Gifts, and Almost Time to Close our Virtual Shower!!!

All - This is the last reminder to bless Baby Jude with some love before he makes his big arrival! As many of you know Julie is SO ready for him to come. Let's join her in prayer that he makes his appearance sooner than later. She has some extra amniotic fluid, so pray that her water breaks and she goes into labor SOON! Jude is measuring at an estimated 8 lbs., and Julie's doctor is not ready to induce until 39 weeks (or December 17th). The great news about that is that he should be a great sleeper out of the gate! They say babies are physically able to sleep through the night at the 10 lb. mark.

Let's do one more special thing as we close out this shower. Let's all keep Jake, Julie and Jude in our prayers daily, but let's also each commit to a day to pray for them specifically on each of the days between now and 12/17. There should be plenty of us to cover that period of time. Please sign up for your day in the comments. If we have more people than days, please just start extending past the 17th. I know this is a busy time of year, but all the more reason we should make time to talk to our savior, right? Please review the comments and choose a date that hasn't been taken.

Finally, Julie has received a couple more gifts. Carrie Williams went all out and got the following adorable gifts, PLUS she sent a bunch of special toys and things that belonged to her girls - all with adorable post-it notes explaining each one.

 And here's the nursing cover and blanket that I made and sent to Julie along with a lot of 12 month hand me downs from my son, Nathan, who Julie watched every Monday for several months when he was little.

Julie was really touched by the fact that Jude will get to use things that other kids she loves (the adorable Williams girls and yes - my sweet Nathan) have used. Passing things on is a beautiful thing!

I will post any other photos of gifts Julie receives here, and I think it's fitting that we also post some photos of Jude once he gets here - you know, for posterity. Baby Turner is continuing to be monitored closely but is healthy and active. Julie is doing well in feeling peaceful and optimistic about his safety, but she's not feeling great physically. Let's continue to keep her in our prayers!

 

The First Gift Has Arrived And an update on Baby Jude

First of all, yea for our first gift! Let's keep them coming. Also, if you need Julie's address in order to mail her something directly, just message me or her. Let's keep those gifts coming!

Look at how cute Baby Jude is looking! And of course Julie is beautiful as always. I wanted to update you on Baby Jude. At the most recent appointment this week, the doctor determined that there's an excessive amount of amniotic fluid in the womb. That could mean multiple things, so they'll be going for additional ultrasounds weekly from here on out. The doctors are taking a good proactive approach,and I've often heard of this correcting itself, but please join us in prayer for Baby Jude's health and safety as well as Jake and Julie's peace and trust in our Maker.

Father God, we know your plan is perfect and that you're loving and kind. You know how much this baby is wanted and loved already - not to mention how much he's already been prayed over. We come to you now and ask that you hold him carefully in your loving hand and keep him safe and healthy. We pray that he continues safely in his momma's belly until the time you've appointed for him to arrive. We know he is fearfully and wonderfully made, and we can't wait to meet him. Please be with Jake and Julie and their hearts as they get ready to welcome Jude into the world. Please give them your peace and keep worry far from their hearts. You know the plans to you have for Jude. Plans not to harm him but to give him a hope and a future. We stand on that promise here, Father. In Jesus' holy name, Amen.

Our First Poll - and a Target Sale!!

Has everyone been thinking about what you want to bless little Jude with? There's a sale at Target right now for all things baby, so take advantage! I'm hoping some of us will buy off registry in order to make sure he has everything he needs, so click on over and check out the registry if you haven't already.

Let's Celebrate Baby Turner!!!!

Welcome to Julie's virtual baby shower for Tiny Turner - also known as Jude Chapman Turner!!

I don't think I could possibly be more excited that Jude is on the way. Sweet little man is due on December 24th, but I think we can all join Julie in hoping he makes an early appearance!

So, what's a virtual shower, you ask? It's a way to honor our sweet friend and and that precious little guy without us all driving to Tennessee (but how fun would that be?!). So, here's how it will work:

1. Please sign up to follow this blog. That way, you'll get emails when we make new posts. You can subscribe on the right sidebar.

2. We'll keep the shower "open" from now until Thanksgiving. That gives you plenty of time to find the best way to honor both Julie and Jude. Her registry link is also on the right. Julie will send me photos of the gifts as she gets them, and that way we can ooh and aah over them as if we were in the room.

3. A baby shower isn't complete without doing something special for the baby. I still have and cherish the things my friends did for my little ones. For Jude, there have already been many kind thoughts and prayers. Please email me with a scripture or a kind thought (and don't forget your name!). So that I can surprise Julie, I'll let you see what we did with them once she sends in the photo, but it will be GREAT! Trust me! Please have those in to me by November 8th.
